I amd my wife had been to Panchgani this week. We read your blog and found this to be very informative with all details. It was very useful to plan our vacation there. I would suggest this blog to be read by anyone who is planning a trip to Panchgani/Mahableshwar. There are a few things I would like to add though.
1. The hotel (summer palace) is decent for the price you pay. But I would recommend that one should take their own bedsheets and towels and other toiletries.
2. We tasted the chocolate walnut fudge from a couple of shops but found the best at Rajesh's(near Shivaji Chowk) chikki and fudge store.
3. We had breakfast at Lucky's cafe and the omellete was very tasty.
4. We rented out bicycles(rate rs 20/hr) and did some sight seeing. It was good fun.
5. Lunch was at Food Affair/ Sai leela's. We ordered chicken thali and fish fry. The food was great. I would suggest all non veg food lovers to try this place.
6. We also feasted on the mullberries sold by local people.
