My Trip of a Lifetime – the Travelogue contest

This year, the Travel Writers trip is to the beautiful and quaint town of Mashobra in Shimla from September 14 to 17th. For last year’s trip to Binsar, the jury selected the writers from a pool of popular travel writers and bloggers. This year however, we are opening this up as a travelogue contest to the general public.

My Trip of a Lifetime - the Travelogue Contest

The contest is called “My Trip of a Lifetime”, and invites contestants to submit their best travel experience, an experience of a lifetime.

What are the Prizes?

  • The authors of the best 3 entries will be selected by the jury to be a part of an all expenses paid trip to Mashobra (Shimla)! The group will be hosted at the Club Mahindra “Whispering Pines Gables” resort in Mashobra, Shimla over a period of 3 days. The itinerary includes sightseeing in Mashobra and other places around Shimla, outdoor activities and camping.

Hi, a question on the ‘Trip of a lifetime’ contest – are there any restrictions on which place should we write about? Should it be associated with Club Mahindra in some manner? Should it be in India? It’ll be good if you can clarify this.

  3. Arun Nair on August 14th, 2009 3:04 pm

Hello Arun, would you please let me know if only Club Mahindra members can participate in this contest. I am not a member yet; however, I was invited by Club Mahindra with a gift certificate as a guest.

I have a travelogue to share about a recent (as recent as 2 days ago!) trip to Yercaud and stay at the Lake Forest resort of Club Mahindra. My wife and I had a wonderful experience and truly enjoyed our ‘Independence Day’ at your resort.

It will be nice if you allow non-members to participate too because we would truly like another opportunity to be at your property again. P.S. I will share my experience anyway so that you guys know what a wonderful job you are doing!

Book Review

Kingdom by the Sea

The Sunday Times in its review had said that this book is “best avoided by patriots with high blood pressure.” Travel writer Paul Theroux’s tongue in cheek perspective of the British and their sensibilities, mannerisms, quirks and eccentricities justifies the above statement. The Kingdom by the Sea is an American’s [...]
