Simply Delhi !!!!!!!!
Dec 25 th 2007

I my wife and my son and daughter are the four musketeers on the trip. Our Location Delhi..... simply Delhi.
We had put up at Karol Bagh. We took an Auto at 4 PM to go to Ll Quilla but could reach only by 5. There are massive traffic jam in Delhi from 4 to 8 everyday. I boughts entry tickets and entered the massive architechture ...but lights were dimming and we had to come out by 6 PM. Just one hour of scrool through the pages of history , especially for my kids.
We first cross Meena Bazar at Fatak to reach Diwani - Aam. Next was Diwani - Khas. Aam means Darbar for the Public and Khas meant a private Durbar for the special ones .
In line was Rang Mahal, Seesh Mahal and the Mosque.... a place favourite to Aurangzeb.
It's time to close down as the Light & Sound is about to begin and the security whistiles us out of the Fort.
We cross the road to tahe a Rickshaw ( A 3 Wheller pulled by a man ) to Chandni Chowk . Now this Chandni.. just opposite to the Red Fort. We drive upto the Town Hall and take a U turn and got down midway in front of parathe wali galli... Parathas are stuffed Chapatis fried in oil.
We could not have any parathas that evening as it was a Tuesday... and we are worshipers of Hanumanji. So no onion and no garlic .. forget chicken, mutton and eggs. This Parathe wali galli is but very famous for its lahori and mughlai delicacies. Everyone should give it a try.
We walked few furlongs to reach Hanuman Mandir just few steps before the church both on the left as we face the Red Fort. It was a tuesday and we had to perform Arati to Baba. We reached there and sat down to sing Hanumanji Ki Arati.
It was 25 th December taht day and it was Christmas. We after the Arati walked down to the Church. Everyone was singing Christmas Carol there.
What a wonderful Chandni it was for us. We had been to Maszid at the Llaquilla ; to Hanumanji Mandir and at the Church. We and our India are truly secular I should say.. We had our pure veg food ( without onion and garlic ) at Rambhoj...a vegeterian resturant in Chandni. We took just one plate of rice and vegetables, and beleive me all four of us could not finish it . Baba Kripa. Jai Shree Hanuman.
