What is the contest about?


Tiny Travel Tales is a contest that gives you the chance to publish your travel tales and get recognised!

So why is this contest so exciting?

  1. Top 50 short entries (shortlisted by a jury of travel writers) gets their story published in this blog, and also wins a popular travelogue/ travel book as prize!
  2. The Final Top 3 entries gets their travel tale produced as as an illustrated video/ animation and uploaded on Youtube for everybody to see! The Top 3 entries also Win the Grand Prizes (packed with travel goodies!)
  3. And that’s not all, all 50 entries will get compiled into an illustrated book and sent across to all participants!

Rules of the contest:

  • Word limit is 300 to 500 words.
  • Stories should be related to travel or holidays.
  • No images/pictures allowed.
  • Contest only open to residents of India.
  • Content entries may be edited to fit the constraints of the contest.
  • The contest will run between 16th Jan to 5th Feb.

Imagine this, you are sitting on a mountain top watching the beautiful sunset. now, wouldn’t that be an inspiration to get poetic?  Club Mahindra invites you to unleash the creative juices and tweet as many Haikus as you can. All the writers, bloggers, and those who never thought they could string a few words that rhymed are welcome to participate in this contest. Tweet a #holidayhaiku and grab the chance to win a few goodies. It is the perfect moment to translate those poetic thoughts into words and share it with all. Let yourself go and have some fun, tweet a funny incident, or maybe a memorable moment,  just make sure you write it down and tweet before 11th January 2012 – 5pm….

2. Share a travel related haiku & tweet it to us.
Make sure to include the hashtag “#holidayhaiku” & mention “@clubmahindra”
Multiple entries are welcome! Each tweet you make will count as an entry.
For example: @clubmahindra the wind of Mt. Fuji I’ve brought on my fan! a gift from Edo #holidayhaiku.
3. Submit the Tweet and encourage your friends and others to RT it. The More the RTs, the more points you gather, remember a point for every RT.
About this offer:
The #holidayhaiku Contest ends on January 11th, 2012 at 5:00pm IST.
We’ll pick 3 winners at random- every day, and contact the winner by DM on Twitter.
Rules of the Contest:

  1. You need to follow @clubmahindra to be eligible for participation in #holidayhaiku
  2. Every tweet in the form of an Haiku needs to be marked to @clubmahindra with the #holidayhaiku. For e.g. @clubmahindra the wind of Mt. Fuji I’ve brought on my fan! a gift from Edo #holidayhaiku.
  3. Entries shall be valid in duration of the contest (14 days) and Each 1 RT will collect you 1 point.
  4. To be eligible for the Grand Prize, you must earn a minimum of 100 points plus Jury vote.
  5. To be eligible for the Daily Prize, you must get most RT’s plus Jury vote for that day.
  6. The decision of the Jury is final and irrevocable when it comes to deciding the winners

My Trip of a Lifetime – the Travelogue contest


This year, the Travel Writers trip is to the beautiful and mountainous locale of Sikkim from October 19 to 22nd. For last year’s trip, the jury selected the writers from a pool of popular travel writers and bloggers. This year we are also opening it up to anyone with a flair for writing or photography!

My Trip of a Lifetime - the Travelogue Contest

What do you need to do?

  • The contest is called “My Trip of a Lifetime”, and invites contestants to submit their best travel experience, an experience of a lifetime.

What are the Prizes?

  • The authors of the best 2 entries will be selected by the jury to be a part of an all expenses paid trip to Sikkim! The group will be hosted at the Club Mahindra “Royal Demazong” resort in Gangtok, Sikkim over a period of 3 days. The itinerary includes sightseeing in Sikkim, outdoor activities and camping.
  • Runners-up entries will win travel goodies that includes a travel bag, books and other merchandise!
  • All the short listed entries, including the winning entries will be featured in Clay!

How to enter the “My Trip of a Lifetime” contest?

  • Send in your article/post to clay@clubmahindra.com, and also attach a few photos of the trip.
  • Once your entry is short listed, we will post  it to Clay. Ask your friends to Tweet or share it on Facebook. The ones will a good number of mentions on social media stand a good chance of winning.

Where will the results be announced?

  • The results and updates of the contest will be updated on Clay, the Jiyo Life page on  Facebook (facebook.com/jiyolife) and Twitter (Twitter.com/Jiyolife, Twitter.com/Clubmahindra)

Who are the members of the Jury?

Rules of the contest:

  • The content can either be new or from an existing blog post that has been authored by the contestant.
  • The contestant holds the right to the content. Plagiarism will result in disqualification.
  • The contestant has to be a resident of India, over 18 years old.
  • Last date for content submission is 7th October 2010.

Terms and Conditions:

1. Club Mahindra will only bear the following expenses of the winning contestant during the trip: Accommodation at the Club Mahindra resort in Sikkim (on a Twin-sharing basis with another member of the group. The Women in the group will be paired together) , Travel, Food at the Club Mahindra resort (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner – as a buffet) and Local Sightseeing (Arranged for the group).

2. The trip is for the winning contestant only.
